The citizen of the neighborhoods near the Lake Tanganyika and the Rivers crossing the city of Bujumbura are in total desolation.
Thousands of citizens, men, women and children are fleeing the waters of the Lake Tanganyika and the Rusizi river. The districts of Gatumba and Kajaga, strongly hit, have become the most destitute of the villagers.
Faith in Action is intervening in the accompaniment of the displacement towards the site of Maramvya where they will be settled, counseling and healing the affected, and forming solidarity groups for social and economic empowerment to keep their hope for the future.
